Bikram Singh is a partner with Attorney Reena Rani at the Law Office of Singh & Rani Attorneys At Law LLP. He has been practicing law for 13 years and is admitted to the New York State and Federal Courts.
Mr. Singh represents individuals and businesses in a diverse range of residential and commercial landlord-tenant matters and real estate litigation. Specifically, Mr. Singh represents clients in residential and commercial nonpayment proceedings, holdover proceedings concerning nonprimary residence, illegal sublet, illegal activity (short-term rentals – Airbnb etc.) and succession claims. In Housing Court and New York State Supreme Court, Mr. Singh has successfully represented clients in shareholder/cooperative disputes, cooperative board election disputes, rent-stabilization claims, rent overcharge claims, subleases, assignment among other claims. Mr. Singh also focuses on business formation, corporate compliance, business development and commercial litigation.
Mr. Singh received his J.D. with honors from from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2008 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Business/Trade and Commerce from the New York Institute of Technology. He is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi and Urdu. Mr. Singh is an active member of the New York City Bar Association and the Queens County Bar Association.
Mr. Singh was a Supervising Attorney for the Volunteer Lawyer for the Day Program from June 2014 through December 2017 through New York State Courts Access to Justice Program where he received a distinguished service award from New York State Courts. He was named Valuable Contribution to the Sikh Community by the Sikh American Chamber of Commerce 2015, recognized for Outstanding Work in the Housing Court’s VLFD Program by the Access to Justice, New York State Courts 2013, was an Honoree Celebrating a Decade of Progress by the Chhaya CDC – Sustaining Homes, Strengthening Communities 2010 and awarded the Excellence in Oral Advocacy by the Center For Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction in 2008.
