Antwon M. Emery is a partner in the Miami office of Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A. Mr. Emery is licensed to practice law in Florida. He is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Mr. Emery is also a decorated veteran having served ten years in the United States Navy. His practices in the areas of hospitality defense, first party insurance litigation, property damage claims, wrongful death, negligent security and personal injury litigation.
A native of Flint, Michigan, Mr. Emery earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2006 and his Bachelor of Science in Health Care Risk Assessment from Southern Illinois University, B.S. in 2002. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar and the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association.
Prior to joining CSK, Mr. Emery worked as a Miami-Dade County Public Defender and was a partner at another prominent local defense firm focusing on first party property, insurance coverage litigation, personal injury, construction defect and general liability defense.
Most Notable cases Mr. Emery has handled are the Michael Mose Poole v. South Dade Rehabilitation Center, 444 So.3d 777 (Fla. 3d DCA 2014) and the John Sawyer v. Ocean Park Condominium, Case No. 3D14-839 (Fla. 3d DCA, December 24, 2014).
Mr. Emery holds the coveted “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell for the Highest Level of Professional Excellence, he is recognized as one of the National Black Lawyers Top 100. He is also involved with the organization Big Brothers Big Sisters.
