Washington, DC WW/Press/April 27, 2016 – Elizabeth L. Homer, Attorney with Homer Law, CHTD, was selected for inclusion in the Top Attorneys of North America – 2016 edition by The Who’s Who Directories.
Attorney Elizabeth Homer is a member of the Osage Nation of Oklahoma and concentrates on matters involving American Indian and Alaskan Native tribal governments, enterprises and organizations in gaming, economic development, administrative law, environmental law, governmental relations, and tribal sovereignty. She began her legal career with the Office of the District Attorney for the Second Judicial District of New Mexico where she prosecuted violent felony offenses before joining the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
Ms. Homer recently completed a three year term of appointment as Vice-Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission and served as the Director of the Office of American Indian Trust at the U.S. Department of the Interior where she worked closely with tribal governments and federal policy makers to advance issues and policies of concern to American Indian and Alaska Native tribal governments , as well as Native Hawaiians. A recognized authority on federal Indian law and policy, she also served on several U.S. diplomatic delegations to the United Nations and the Organization of American States on matters concerning the civil and political rights of indigenous peoples. Attorney Homer truly gives her dedication and personal service to her clients ‘ concerns, creating a goal for justice, equality, and economic stability. Elizabeth received her B.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder and her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Native American Bar Association, and was appointed to the Superior Court of the Osage Nation of Oklahoma.
