Marina I. Miller, Ph.D., is an intellectual property partner in the firm’s Chemical Patent Prosecution group focused on chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology pate. Her experience covers all aspects of clients counseling, patent portfolio development and management, prosecution, reexamination proceedings, appeals, opinions of counsel, due diligence, and pre-litigation counseling. She actively works with international and domestic clients to develop and grow their patent portfolios.
Prior to joining Oblon, Dr. Miller served as a Patent Examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She was also a law clerk and scientific advisor in the IP litigation department of a leading national law firm, with an emphasis on clients counseling and litigation in matters involving pharmaceutical compounds, formulations, polymorphs, and genetically engineered crops. Dr. Miller is the author of thirty-two scientific publications and is named as an inventor on issued pate and pending patent applications. Marina is a member of the American Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), District of Columbia Bar Association, and Maryland Bar Association.
