Jerry Wally Wallentine - Personal Injury Attorney in Kansas and Missouri

An accident can change your life in a single moment. One minute you are driving home from work or walking through your neighborhood, and the next you are facing pain, medical bills, and a mountain of uncertainty. At Wallentine Injury Law, LLC, we understand how quickly everything can shift. That is why we dedicate ourselves to fighting for your rights and making sure you receive the compensation you deserve. We proudly serve clients throughout Kansas and Missouri, with attorneys licensed to practice in both states. From our main office in downtown Olathe, Kansas, we meet with people across major metropolitan areas and the surrounding communities, offering comprehensive legal support wherever life has taken a hard turn.

Attorney Jerry “Wally” Wallentine has spent more than two decades building the knowledge and experience that his clients rely on today. Over the past 21 years, he has grown his practice into a focused personal injury operation, concentrating on the cases that matter most to everyday people. His work covers automobile accidents, wrongful death claims, dog bite injuries, and much more. In recent years, sexual abuse cases have become one of his primary areas of practice, and he approaches this sensitive work with the care and determination it demands.

What drives Jerry is simple. He finds genuine joy in helping clients secure the maximum funds available from insurance companies that usually want to pay next to nothing. That commitment has produced real results. Wallentine Injury Law has recovered millions of dollars for clients, including several individual outcomes reaching seven figures. Behind every one of those numbers is a person who received the resources they needed to heal and move forward.

To understand Jerry, you have to understand where he came from. He speaks with deep pride about his parents and the lessons they taught him. His father grew up in poverty and had to leave school after middle school to work full-time and support his own parents and sisters. Despite having little formal education, he is a gifted and intelligent man who provided for his family through years of hard work in a factory.

Jerry’s mother faced a different kind of struggle. Her family held sexist expectations of women, and her parents rejected her decision to attend college because they believed her place was in the home. She left home anyway, married Jerry’s father at 18, and had two children by the age of 21. Years later she retired as a special education teacher, holding a Master’s degree and having achieved the highest testing scores ever seen at her university. Together, Jerry’s parents rose above their modest beginnings, and they continue to live life fully while giving back through their church and community.

Growing up in that home taught Jerry a lesson he carries into every case. A person has value regardless of wealth, color, status, or gender, and everyone deserves a fair opportunity to be heard.

Long before he entered the courtroom, Jerry served in ministry. He grew up in a Nazarene Church and spent numerous years in full-time ministry before attending law school. Today he remains an ordained Nazarene Minister and has served off and on as a part-time weekend pastor. He loves Jesus and believes that Jesus is the Son of the Living God.

Jerry is thankful to live in a country that values and upholds freedom of religion. While he is happy to share his own spiritual beliefs, he holds deep respect for people who see the world differently. That balance of conviction and openness reflects the way he treats everyone he meets.

Appearing in court is an honor Jerry never takes lightly. He believes justice should be blind, guided by law rather than by ideology, politics, or personal preference. Our system does not always get it right, but it provides both order and justice, and without order no community can truly thrive. That belief has shaped his entire approach to the law.

On numerous occasions, Jerry has served as a pro tem judge in Johnson County District Court, a role he especially enjoys and takes very seriously as he works to administer justice fairly. He is grateful that the courts give him a tool to pursue justice for his clients and to help them secure the money they need to recover from their injuries. Our system no longer follows a barbaric eye for an eye approach. Instead, it pursues justice for injured people through fair compensation, and Jerry is proud to be part of that process.

Jerry loves his country. It is not perfect, but he views the American democratic experiment as something extraordinary that citizens should never take for granted. He values hard work and personal responsibility, yet he also believes in an even playing field that does not hand every advantage to the wealthy. He wants strong opportunities for hardworking people who were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths.

He believes the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights are not loopholes or mere suggestions. On the toughest political issues, he calls for critical thinking, reasonableness, and genuine respect for people and their liberties. It is easy to take a one-sided view, he says, but it takes courage and intellectual honesty to evaluate a situation from every angle. Jerry also serves as a Kansas state commissioner for the Kansas Public Disclosure Commission, which enforces the Campaign Finance Act, oversees lobbyists, and investigates political conflicts of interest.

Experience is the foundation of a successful legal career, and Jerry began building his by learning from some of the best and most experienced lawyers in Kansas. That mentorship gave him the knowledge and skill to succeed as a private attorney in Olathe, Kansas and throughout the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area.

Jerry graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He then attended the University of Kansas School of Law, where he earned his J.D. He loves being an attorney and takes great pride in representing every client with the goal of maximum compensation. Over the years he has represented more than 1,000 clients and has handled many cases through jury trials, bench trials, motion hearings, mediation, settlement, and other resolutions. He especially enjoys connecting with jurors during voir dire.

His credentials reflect that dedication. Jerry is licensed to practice in the Kansas and Missouri state bars and is the author of an article published in The Journal of the Kansas Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the Johnson County Bar Association and a member of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 in Kansas, and The Lawyers of Distinction.

Jerry describes his approach in three words: aggressive, truth-driven, and client-centered. Each one carries real meaning.

Being aggressive means he zealously represents his clients’ interests. It does not mean being rude or playing the “bulldog.” His preference is to be kind and collegial with the opposing side, for two reasons. First, people matter, even in opposition, and everyone deserves to be treated well. Second, hostility often hurts a case, since most matters are resolved through negotiation rather than open battle. Of course, some opponents are unreasonable or come in swinging. In those situations, Jerry stays respectful but never compromises his client. He files the appropriate motions, pursues legitimate lawsuits, and advocates firmly, dealing with difficult parties steadfastly and effectively rather than making the process miserable for everyone involved.

Being truth-driven means the courtroom is a place for truth to be revealed. Jerry will not lie for his clients, nor will he allow his clients to lie in court. Unfortunately, insurance companies often resist the full truth. Jurors are frequently not told that an insurance company, not the individual driver, is actually paying the judgment. Insurance companies also work hard to minimize the true damages a victim has suffered. That is why Jerry believes it is so important to make his clients’ injuries clear and undeniable.

Being client-centered means keeping open, regular communication and focusing entirely on what each client needs and wants. His passion is securing the highest compensation possible for the people he serves. When he says “You Need Jerry,” he means you need an attorney who is truly focused on you.

The entire team at Wallentine Injury Law is client focused. When they say “You Need Jerry,” they are promising to be a firm that meets your injury needs, your “InJerry” needs. The mission is straightforward and unwavering: everything centers on meeting the needs of the client. That is the promise behind the name, and it is the standard the firm works to uphold in every case.

Jerry works hard for his clients and takes their cases seriously, but he also knows how to play hard and cherish the time he spends with his family. He is the proud husband of an amazing wife and the father of three children. That balance of dedication and joy fuels the energy and compassion he brings to his work every single day.

If an accident has turned your life upside down, remember that you do not have to face it alone, and you do not have to worry about upfront costs. With Wallentine Injury Law, there is no risk, and you do not pay a dime unless we win. You need an advocate who fights hard, tells the truth, and puts you first. You need Jerry.
