For more than half a century, Robert Quinlan Bergstrom built a reputation as a personal injury attorney in the Central Valley. Now, at 82, the well-known Clovis lawyer sits behind bars. Fresno police arrested him on July 25, and he has remained jailed ever since, accused of molesting four young female relatives. Prosecutors allege the abuse stretched across a span of roughly 15 years, from 2009 through May 2024.
The charges against him are serious and numerous. Bergstrom stands accused of eight felonies: three counts of lewd acts on a child, three counts tied to oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 or younger, one count of a forcible lewd act on a child, and one count of continuous sexual abuse.
