Scott K. Seelagy, Esq., the firm’s Managing Attorney, has over 35 years of experience as a civil trial attorney litigating and trying 50 jury and 20 non-jury cases in the state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York involving a variety of complex personal injury, employment, civil rights, products liability, insurance coverage,  property damage and contract cases through mediation and/or arbitration proceedings as both plaintiff and defense counsel. Scott has also handled numerous worker’s compensation matters on behalf injured workers in the Division of Worker’s Compensation.

Mr. Seelagy is licensed to practice law in the State Courts of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Seelagy attended Gettysburg College where he received a BA in Business Administration. After college, he attended the Vermont Law School, where he served as a Notes Editor on the Vermont Law Review. His Note, entitled “A Critique of the Vermont Securities Act: Is Vermont’s ‘Blue Sky’ Really Grey?” is published in the Vermont Law Review, Volume 11, No. 1, Spring 1986. Mr. Seelagy graduated cum laude from law school with a class rank of 16 out of 121 graduates.

Following his clerkship, Mr. Seelagy was employed as an associate attorney with the law firm of Pelletieri, Rabstein & Altman, a predominantly plaintiff litigation firm. After approximately three years at the Pellettieri firm, Mr. Seelagy was employed as an associate attorney at Gennet, Kallmann, Antin & Robinson in Roseland, New Jersey. At the Gennet firm, he was responsible for handling both plaintiff and defense personal injury matters, and the defense of first-party insurance and property damage subrogation claims on behalf of insurance carriers. During his time as an associate with those law firms, he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in hundreds of personal injury, insurance and property damage cases of varying complexity and tried several jury cases to verdict.  

From November 2001 until December 31, 2012, Mr. Seelagy served as a member of the Sparta Township Council in Sparta, New Jersey. During that time, he served three, 1 year terms as Mayor, two terms as the Deputy Mayor and four years as a member of the Sparta Township Planning Board. His extensive involvement in municipal government has given him a strong background regarding the internal functioning of virtually all aspects of a municipal government, policy making, the function and responsibility of municipal officials and employees, union activity and an in-depth knowledge of municipal and land-use law.

Currently, Mr. Seelagy is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Morris County Bar Association and the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey.
