The firm’s founder, Stephen C. Banton has been practicing law in St. Louis since 1974. Mr. Banton was raised in a middle class family in St. Louis, Missouri. His parents taught him the core Christian values to help others. He would help others, but unlike his father who practiced medicine. Mr. Banton was drawn to the legal profession because he likes to talk and did not like working with blood. Initially he worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney helping to provide some justice for the many victims of crime.
He was elected as a Missouri State Representative in 1982, Mr. Banton joined the law firm Quinn & Banton then Quinn, Ground & Banton From 2005-2015. Mr. Banton formed his own firm: Banton Business & Legacy Law, LLP in 2015.
Mr. Banton, a former Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, founded this firm with a strong tradition of service to his community and country. He believes that his clients deserve the highest-quality representation and he has established this throughout his firm. He received his JD and MBA degrees from Washington University. Mr. Banton is a member of the Rockwood Board of Education, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Missouri Bar, the American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. He has been active in numerous civic, charitable, religious, and service organizations, and has served on the board of directors of many of them. Mr. Banton has lectured and given numerous seminars on estate planning and living trusts.
