The firm’s founder, Elainie Honjas has twenty-four years of experience practicing law. She is admitted to the California Bar and the U.S. Tax Court. Ms. Honjas focuses on family law and the tax aspects of family law cases. She also maintains a small practice in bankruptcy law, dealing with cases as they relate to family law and beyond.
Ms. Honjas possesses the skills and knowledge to handle any kind of family law case, whether it raises intricate tax questions, complicated property division, or the deeply emotional issues that are found in divorces or child custody cases. The matters she has handled have included issues of complex property division, reimbursement claims, support, fiduciary duties, child custody and visitation, international and interstate custody cases, child abduction cases, family law jurisdictional issues, nullity of marriage/putative spouse cases, and other aspects of family law, such as paternity, dissolution of marriage, guardianship, step parent adoption, and domestic violence cases.

Before pursuing a legal career, Ms. Honjas studied clinical psychology for more than two years in pursuit of a Ph.D.
Ms. Honjas graduated in 1969 from the University of Athens with a B.A. in political science. She received her Juris Doctorate from the law school at New College of California in 1985. Ms. Honjas graduated with an LLM in taxation from Golden Gate University in 1995. She is a been a member of the State Bar of California since 1989. From 1991 to the present, Ms. Honjas is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association where she served on the Board of Trustees from 2001-2006. She is a member of the Family Law Executive Committee and the Fee Arbitration Executive Committee. In 2005, Ms. Honjas served as Presiding Arbitrator for the latter committee. She is proud to be involved with the Education Committee of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, where she serves as co-chair of the Education Committee of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, she previously was a member of the board of the Family Law Executive Committee.
