Joseph Gottemoller, founder of the firm started practicing law in 1982 and was a prosecutor for 2 years before going into private practice. He is admitted to the Illinois Bar; the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois including Trial Bar. Mr. Gottemoller is well known and highly respected for his work in commercial and residential real estate, complex zoning, eminent domain and land use issues. As a valued counselor and advocate, Mr. Gottemoller will take the time to carefully listen and understand the specific needs of his clients. He will use his aggressive courtroom representation with honest, practical, and knowledgeable solutions in helping you achieve your goals.
Mr. Gottemoller received his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, 1982 and B.A. from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the McHenry County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and Livingston County Bar Association.
Mr. Gottemoller sat as Chairman from 2014 through 2016, Chairman of the Planning & Development Committee, Chairman of transportation, and member of the Law & Justice and Liquor & License Committees. He played a strong role in the McHenry County Zoning ordinance review committee in the mid-90’s and has worked with over twenty area municipalities and counties on behalf of commercial real estate developers and large residential development projects. He is an expert in local land use issues that pertain to McHenry County Zoning Ordinances as well as issues involving zoning code variations, condemnation, and eminent domain.
