Steven received a J.D. from George Washington University, 1975 and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, 1972. He is a member of the New York Bar Association. Steven is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the NYS Bar Association Elder Law Section and the Trusts and Estates Section, Eldercare Matters, and The Orion Resource Group.
Steven is also very active working with not for profits. He has have been on the Board of Directors of UJA-Federation of New York for over 10 years, He serves on two of the allocation committees – the Commission on the Jewish People, and the Caring Commission. He chaired several Task Forces, and is currently on the COJP Cabinet, and have served on the COJP Steering Committee. Steven previously served in leadership positions on numerous other committees both in their NYC office and their Long Island office.
Steven also serve as Executive Vice President of our small family foundation, The Shirley and William Fleischer Family Foundation, Inc. They have a number of priorities, the largest focusing on assisting organizations that provide employment and jobs training in the NYC area or in Israel.
