David A. Mendoza, founder of the firm has been practicing law since 2004. He is admitted to the Texas bar. David provides legal representation in civil and criminal defense cases. Before entering into private practice, David served as a public service attorney doing his tenure at the District Attorney’s office, where he gained valuable years of courtroom experience. As a private attorney, Mr. Mendoza is proud to represent those who are injured or stand accused of a crime and is honored that his Law Office serves as a lifeline for those in a time of crisis and despair. He says, being an attorney is a privilege. Despite a tough upbringing he was able to become a successful lawyer. As a former prosecutor Mr. Mendoza obtained the largest settlement for his county in the amount of $12 million dollars.
Prior to practicing law, David honorably served the United States from 1990 to 1998 as an active service member in the United States Armed Forces (Army Reserves), including activation for the first Persian Gulf War (Desert-Storm). During his time serving in the Army Reserves, he worked his way through college and earned his Undergraduate Degree at Southwest Texas State University now called Texas State University. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Mendoza served the State of Texas through employment with the Texas State Securities Board, regulating brokers and dealers, and later worked with the Texas Attorney General.
From 2004 to 2011 Mr. Mendoza was employed by the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and served as a prosecuting attorney for the Hays County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. David argued extensively in the numerous trials he conducted for the DA’s office and dedicated nearly 12 years to law enforcement efforts.
David pursued and obtained his law degree at St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio. He is a member of the Hays County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Texas Bar Association.
David Mendoza has lived in San Marcos for over 30 years, and been married to Anita Alvarez for twenty-five years. Together, David and Anita have three children.
