Sanjeev Kumar is the founder and principal at Hunt Pennington Kumar PLLC. He is admitted to practice law in the State Bar of Texas and a registered practitioner with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. His areas of practice include legal counsel to entrepreneurs and business owners in business & corporate law and intellectual property along with related areas of interest to clients such as business succession planning, wealth preservation through estate planning, and alternate dispute resolution. 

Having been a business professional himself, he has been a successful technology professional, entrepreneur and business leader managing teams that were culturally diverse and located in different geographic areas. His technology and engineering experience along with business knowhow in dealing with customers, suppliers and partners all around the globe when combined with knowledge of law makes Sanjeev a valuable advisor to entrepreneurs, professional mangers and business owners. Sanjeev has had experiences in negotiating deals with the industry stalwarts like Apple, Sony, Samsung, Microsoft, and Philips. He has dealt with customers, suppliers and partners in various geographies like Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Europe, India and China/Hong Kong. He has managed remote teams in India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan. All these experiences enable him to be the savvy and tough advocate a client appreciates to have by his/her side. Prior to practicing law, Sanjeev co-founded Portal Player, a semiconductor startup, and grew it into a NASDAQ listed company that was responsible for integral portions of the first seven generations of Apple iPods. Sanjeev’s experience includes three decades of involvement with: personal computer and consumer electronics device design and development; system architecture design; embedded firmware and  system software, and related technical and business management.

For years, Sanjeev has been on the cutting edge of technological innovation, with more than a decade devoted to the design, development, and implementation of next-generation PC systems and PC system architectures. He has experience in both the engineering and legal sides of the innovation and patent process. His secret to success has been to always think about what is best for his clients.

Sanjeev received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law, M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tulane University and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute if Technology, Kanpur. He is a member of the Texas Bar Association and a Council Member for the City for Lakeway.

When he is not assisting clients with their legal matters Sanjeev can be found honing his skills on the golf course, traveling or exploring the ever-expanding Austin food scene.
