William R. Delaney, founder and owner of the firm has been practicing law for 32 years. He was admitted to practice in the Courts of California in 1989 and has practiced federal law before the U.S. District Court Northern and Central Districts of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit. Mr. Delaney is also a licensed foreign attorney in Vietnam and has operated law offices in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. His areas of practice are in Injury Law (Worker’s Compensation, Personal Injury), Contract and Document Preparation/Translation, Civil Litigation/Arbitration/Mediation, International Business Transactions, Entity Formation, Construction and Real Estate, and Sports and Entertainment Law. He has earned a million dollar jury verdict in an Environmental pollution case as a Trial Lawyer and has successfully handled appeals in the appellate courts.
Mr. Delaney received his J.D. from Golden Gate University and B.A. Summa Cum Laude in Math, Spanish, and French from Newberry College in South Carolina in 1978. He also has a degree in French Literature from the L’Universite de Paris-Sorbonne, did graduate work in French at the University of South Carolina and studied Japanese and Portuguese at the University of California-Berkeley. Mr. Delaney was a Rhodes Scholar Finalist for South Carolina in 1978. He is fluent in English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese and has a good working knowledge in several other languages. In addition to languages, his passion is baseball as a player (shortstop for the French National Baseball Team in the European Cup in Rimini, Italy in 1977 and MSBL) as a coach and fan. Mr. Delaney is a member of the California State Bar and Redwood Empire Men’s Senior Baseball League.
Mr. Delaney is recognized by the Top Attorneys in North America, and was honored by the Bay Area Men’s Senior Baseball League Hall of Fame.
Mr. Delaney is married to Eleonor Delaney RN a nurse at UCSF Oakland Children’s Benioff Hospital for 34 years and has three children: Bjorn Delaney (Ohio State University, George Washington University, American University in Cairo) who lives and works in Washington DC; Angelique Seitz (University of California Davis, Montaigne University Bordeaux France, Berlin, Germany) who lives and works with First Republic Bank in San Francisco; and Christian Delaney (University of Arizona, Orvieto Italy, Fortaleza Brazil, and International Business School in Sao Paulo) who lives and works with First Republic Bank in San Francisco.
