Prior to starting his own law practice Mr. Rini was a Captain in the The United States Army Reserve (USAR), 1970, a Special Assistant, 1977-1979 and Deputy, 1979-1981, Corporation Counsel, City of New Haven, General Counsel to the New Haven Redevelopment Agency and the New Haven Parking Authority.

Additionally, he is a Trustee, Saint Brendan’s Church, 1994—; Trustee St. Brendan Board of Education, 1988-1995. Director, Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut, Inc., 1993-1996. Director, VNA Health Services, Inc., 1996—. Vice President, New Haven County Bar Foundation, Inc., 1999-2002. Mr. Joseph L. Rini received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law, 1974 and his B.A. cum laude in Political Science from Boston University, 1970.
