Anthony G. Gorski is the principal attorney at The Law Office of Anthony G. Gorski LLC, located in Annapolis, MD. Tony has more than 30 years of experience representing clients in these areas of law and provides advice and counsel to small businesses, multistate corporate entities, farmers, real estate owners and individuals as well as state, county, municipal and quasi-governmental entities. His experience includes matters involving environmental permitting, environmental compliance, wetlands regulation, hazardous and solid waste management and disposal, Brownfields Redevelopment & Voluntary Cleanup programs, agricultural uses as well as general land use law including planning, annexation, zoning, Development Rights and Responsibilities Agreements, water/sewer capacity allocations, wells, water appropriation, and on-site sewage disposal. In addition to advice and compliance counseling, Tony represents clients in litigation, both at trial and on appeal, in State and federal courts and before local, state and federal administrative tribunals. He is admitted to practice law in Maryland, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and for the Federal Circuit.
Tony served as an Assistant Attorney General representing the Maryland Department of the Environment in State and federal courts and administrative tribunals from 1991-1997. In that position, he represented Maryland’s solid waste, oil control, water pollution control, hazardous waste and other regulatory programs. He entered private practice in 1997.
Tony received his Juris Doctor and a Master of Environmental Law, cum laude, from Vermont Law School in 1990. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Frostburg University in 1986, majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Management, with minors in Biology and Chemistry.
In addition to his active law practice, he is an Adjunct Faculty member at Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering, where he has taught environmental law and business law to graduate professional students for over 20 years. He has also taught Environmental Law and Agricultural Water Quality Policy for undergraduate students at other universities and is an active speaker in numerous legal and professional education seminars and courses. He published “The One That Got Away – An Analysis Of Federal Regulation Of The Release Of Genetically Engineered Fish,” Vol. 3, No. 2, University of Baltimore Journal of Environmental Law, p. 1 (1993).
Tony is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association (member and former Chair of Env’l Law Sec.; member and Sec. Council of Agric’l Law Sec.), the Anne Arundel County Bar Association and the Queen Anne’s County Bar Association.
