Ann Patterson has been helping the people of North Georgia collect the government benefits they deserve for decades. In 2009, she fell in love with the town of Rome, and joined the practice of Davis and Davis. She made partner of the firm which is now Davis, Davis & Patterson. Her areas of practice are Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security Income, and Long Term disability benefits.

Ms. Patterson has represented claimants at all levels in the state of Georgia. She is licensed to practice in all the state’s courts – including the Superior Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. In 2019, she was selected for admission to the United States Supreme Court, having been sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts before the U.S. Courts of Appeal and set legal precedent with published decisions, one in the 6th Circuit and one in the 11th Circuit. Ms. Patterson has had a distinguished legal career. She was the first female appointed Criminal Assistant District Attorney in the Lookout mountain Judicial Circuit, which serves Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, and Walker Counties. For ten years, she was also the Municipal Court Judge of Fort Oglethorpe, being the first woman to hold the position.

As Assistant DA and later a Judge, Ms. Patterson witnessed the challenges faced by the people of North Georgia. Since 1984, she has devoted her legal career to helping the disabled obtain the benefits they deserve.

Growing up in Cumming, Georgia, she graduated from Forsyth County High School. At an early age she learned the importance of public service. She was active in 4-H, eventually becoming a State Officer, and also served as a camp counselor at Rock Eagle and Wahsega 4-H Centers. She first became interested in the law as a teenager, while babysitting the children of the youngest Superior Court judge in the state of Georgia. After putting his children to bed, she would stay up and read the transcripts from his trials, dreaming of one day becoming an attorney. She left Cumming to make her dream come true.

Ms. Patterson graduated from the University of Georgia, with degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice. A loyal fan of the Georgia Bulldawgs – she drives a red and black car to this day – she stayed in Athens to attend the UGA School of Law. Her legal studies also took her further afield. She spent two summers working in Washington, DC, first for Senator Sam Nunn, and then for the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. She also studied one semester at the University of Athens Law School, in Athens, Greece. In 1982, she graduated with her Juris Doctor, from the University of Georgia School of Law

Ms. Patterson became a proud member of the Georgia Bar. She is also a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR) and the American Bar Association.

Ms. Patterson enjoys time with her three children and four wonderful grandchildren as often as possible.
