Harold Jacobi, III is the founding member of the firm. Mr. Jacobi has been a Massachusetts practicing attorney since 1970. Mr. Jacobi opened his own law firm in 1976 in downtown Boston as Jacobi Associates. In 2009, David C. Chamberlain, Jr. joined the firm and together they established Jacobi & Chamberlain LLP. Originally located in downtown Boston, the firm relocated to Lexington in 2002.

Mr. Jacobi was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1970 and U.S. District Court, 1972. He has extensive civil and criminal litigation experience, in addition to many years establishing and providing counsel to large corporations, mid-sized and small businesses, non-profits and individuals, and negotiating on their behalf.

Mr. Jacobi successfully represented an international depositor against Bank of Boston, defended by one of Boston’s largest law firms, in a $5 million case in the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts. Bank of Boston appealed, but eventually withdrew and paid our client the full value of his claim. Weber, et al. v. Bank of Boston, 997 F. Supp. 111 (D. Mass. 1997).

Mr. Jacobi won a million dollar jury verdict, including treble damages, costs and attorneys’ fees for a Toyota dealer against Rockland Trust Company under the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act (Ch. 93A), for unfair and deceptive acts and practices and breach of contract on a business loan for the purchase of the dealership. The bank appealed and our firm won on appeal. Tufankjian v. Rockland Trust Company, 57 Mass. App. Ct. 173 (2003).

He also has extensive experience working on behalf of churches and other charitable organizations to advise them in a variety of matters, including incorporation, corporate governance, copyright infringement, litigation and internal matters.

In addition, Harold has counseled couples, both married and unmarried, to reach amicable solutions in issues involving separation, divorce, child custody and support. Harold has also assisted individuals, business owners, and families in the purchase and sale of business and residential real estate, investment properties, and commercial real estate.

Mr. Jacobi received his J.D. from Boston University and B.A. from The University of Virginia. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Trial Lawyers Association(where for over five years he was a top officer) and ATLA.

Harold’s secret to success has been in surrounding himself with very abled lawyers and staff and that creativity has helped him resolve and succeed on behalf of all his clients.

Harold and his wife, Wendy, reside in Sudbury, MA and have five children.
