Craig B. Young is Of Counsel at Kutak Rock in Washington, D.C. and Richmond, Virginia. Mr. Young is a seasoned litigator with more than 35 years of experience in both state and federal courts throughout the United States. He was admitted to practice law in 1982. His admissions are the District of Columbia and Virginia. In addition, he has represented clients in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Texas, California, New York, Florida, Ohio, Illinois and Minnesota among other locations.

Mr. Young focuses on commercial transactions and civil litigation including sales and secured transactions under the Uniform Commercial Code and creditors’ rights under the Bankruptcy Code. He has handled complex civil litigation involving tort and contract actions worth millions of dollars. Mr. Young regularly represents bankruptcy estates and trustees in investigations of and litigation over fraudulent transfers and breaches of fiduciary duty as well as secured creditors and committees of unsecured creditors seeking recovery on claims.

Mr. Young received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, his M.S. in Technology of Management and his B.A. in Political Science and Government, both from American University. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Bar of the District of Columbia, the Federal Bar in Maryland, the Fairfax Bar Association, the Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

For more than 20 years, Mr. Young has served as an adjunct professor at the Antonin Scalia Law School of George Mason University. He also supervises a free Bankruptcy Assistance Clinic in Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia with his students as externs, and serves as a conciliator for the Fairfax County, Virginia, Circuit Court.

Mr. Young was awarded the Alumni Service Award in 2001 by George Mason University, the Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 2007 by the George Mason University School of Law and has an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale Hubbell. Mr. Young was recently recognized by Legal Services of Northern Virginia for providing more than 100 annual hours of pro bono services. He has also been named among the Super Lawyers in Virginia for 2014 through 2017.
