Mr. Borger is a 1976 graduate of the Temple University School of Law (now the James Beasley School of Law at Temple University). After law school he clerked for the Hon. Paul A. Lowengrub, J.S.C. (now deceased) in what then was the Matrimonial Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Camden County.

For the past 43 years Mr. Borger has engaged in the private practice of law in Cherry Hill, New Jersey (presently as a shareholder with Borger Matez, P.A.), concentrating his practice in negotiation, mediation and litigation of family law matters. His practice involves divorce, custody, parenting time, child relocation, alimony, child support, domestic violence, civil unions, equitable distribution of marital property and debt, and all other aspects of the myriad of legal problems associated with separation and divorce and associated tort claims, and includes drafting and negotiation of cohabitation, premarital and marital agreements.

Mr. Borger is a member of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association (for which he served as a member of the Executive Committee); the family law committees of the Burlington, Camden and Gloucester County Bar Associations; the South Jersey Collaborative Divorce Professionals; the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals; and the New Jersey Association for Justice where he is a member of the Matrimonial Committee. Mr. Borger also is a volunteer member of the Gloucester County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel, previously having served on the Camden and Burlington County Early Settlement Panels, assisting attorneys and their clients in cases in litigation reaching agreements. Mr. Borger has also lectured to attorneys for the American Bar Association Family Law Section, the NJ Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and for the Camden and Burlington County Bar Associations for continuing legal education seminars and was a guest family law lecturer from 1987 – 2002 at the James Beasley School of Law at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

Mr. Borger completed a 40-hour course in family law mediation with the South Jersey Mediation Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey in 2001; a 40-hour mediation course at Harvard Law School in 2002; and trained with Linda Piff, Esquire in collaborative divorce in 2010.

Mr. Borger holds the coveted AV Rating by Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating for competence and ethics; named to SJ Magazine’s Top Attorneys list for the area of Mediation; and Designated an Awesome Attorney by South Jersey Magazine.
