John Patrick Dolan, a California Criminal Trial Lawyer has over 40 years of courtroom experience. Dolan passed the California Bar Exam and was sworn into practice in 1978. He is admitted to practice in California and numerous Federal jurisdictions. Additionally, he is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America, originally sponsored by F. Lee Bailey.
Dolan is a California State Bar Certified Specialist in Criminal Law and a true courtroom veteran. Certification as a Specialist in Criminal Law is the highest achievement awarded by the State Bar of California to attorneys in the field of criminal law. Mr. Dolan has successfully defended all types of charges, from DUI, traffic tickets, domestic violence, sexual assault charges, and violent & serious felonies to death penalty murder cases. A native Californian, Dolan attended Western State University College of Law, and supported himself during law school as a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch and served as a law clerk and sat second chair on numerous criminal cases including two murder trials. He graduated in 1977 with a J.D. degree. He received his Bachelor Degree in Speech Communication and Political Science from California State University, Fullerton, California in 1971.
Mr. Dolan is a member of The California State Bar Association, The Desert Bar Association, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
In addition to his professional legal experience, Mr. Dolan serves as CEO of CDTA College of Law. Dolan along with his wife, Irene Garcia Dolan founded the California Desert Trial Academy College of Law. In 2012, the mission of the California Desert Trial Academy is “educating, training, and developing extraordinary legal advocates.” They offer California State Bar Tested courses for students wishing to become legal advocates in addition to minimum continuing legal education (MCLE) credit classes for those already practicing.
