Attorney Norman J. Lerum established the law firm in 1986, and has earned a reputation for providing effective legal guidance that is tailored to each client’s individual needs. At Norman J. Norman J. Lerum has been practicing law since 1975. He is admitted to the Illinois Bar, the U.S. District Court Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals 7th Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals Federal Circuit and Federal Claims Court.

Norman J. Lerum focuses in the areas of business and contract litigation, insurance coverage and personal injury cases. He maintains an active trial and appellate practice and feels he is as good as any trial attorney in America. Mr. Lerum has handled hundreds of litigated matters in his career. He has tried over 100 cases, both jury and bench, in courts located in Illinois, Delaware, New York, Kentucky, Indiana, Arizona, Iowa, Texas, and California. He has also prepared and argued approximately 100 cases on appeal, several of which have set precedent.

He began his career as Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Joseph Burke, Illinois Appellate Court, 1974-1976. Mr. Lerum has served on numerous Chicago Bar Association committees including chairing the Committee on evaluating Devitt recommendations regarding trial practice requirements in federal court and Judicial Evaluation of prospective members of the bench.

Mr. Lerum graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A., cum laude and Notre Dame Law School with a J.D. in 1974. While in law school, he was the recipient of the Dean’s Award and member of the National Moot Court team. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.

He is a presenter and lecturer in legal education seminars on litigation topics: including an instructor in legal research and writing at Loyola University Law School. He assisted in the formation, and design, as well as taught in the trial practice course sponsored by the Chicago Bar Association for admission to the Federal Trial Bar.  He has taught at the Insurance School of Chicago.

Norman J. Lerum is an AV rated lawyer under the Martindale-Hubbell system, and has been listed among Chicago’s Top Rated Lawyers. He has been accepted as a Life Member of the National Registry of Who’s Who as published in the 1998 Edition.
