Michael opened his own practice in Baltimore in 1975. At one time his practice employed 4 lawyers and appropriate support staff. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of Maryland, The Supreme Court of Florida, the 4th Federal Circuit Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Michael practices in real estate, estate planning, trusts and wills, and probate. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and Baltimore County Bar Association. He is also Past Pres. Maryland Collaborative Law Association, Inc.

Michael was raised in Hanover, Pennsylvania, a small-town just over the Maryland Pennsylvania line north of Baltimore. He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Columbia University, New York City, in 1966. Upon completion of college, he was chosen to be a Melton Research Fellow while pursuing his PhD in philosophy at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Upon completing his work at Ohio State, Michael began law school at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. While in law school, Michael was a law clerk with several Cleveland law firms. In 1972 he began working with a boutique real estate law firm and continued through his early practice experience. In the mid 70s Michael moved to a Baltimore to work with one of the large law firms in its real estate practice.
Michael has taught philosophy at the Ohio State University and at John Carroll University in Cleveland. He has taught required continuing education courses to title insurance agents, real estate agents and brokers, health insurance agents, and to lawyers through the Association of Trial Lawyers of Maryland. Michael has taught seminars nationally to the National Association of Health Underwriters at its national conventions. Michael has received the Outstanding Adult Educator Award from the Baltimore County Public Schools for adult education.
Michael has been associated with several local charitable organizations for many years, including serving as counsel to the Baltimore Health Insurance Underwriters, Maryland Health Insurance Underwriters; member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Chapter of the American Diabetes Association, and has served and continues to serve locally, regionally, and internationally for the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, which has honored him with its highest national award in 2015 and in 2018 with the highest regional award, the Lifetime Achievement Society Award. Michael continues to serve with regular with active leadership roles and he prepares regular podcasts.
