Watland & Allen, PLLC was established when Mark R. Allen combined his estate practice with that of his partner, Dwight Watland. Mr. Allen and his staff bring many years of experience and dedication to his clients. Mr. Allen’s focus is to provide excellent legal services in the areas of estate planning, probate services, trust administration, corporate and business transactions. Mr. Allen has a wide range of clients (individuals, entrepreneurs, corporate executives and owners of closely held businesses) and he takes a personalized approach to help his clients reach their goals.
Mr. Allen received his Bachelors of Science degree from Arizona State University with high distinction in 1976 and received his Juris Doctor degree from Arizona State University College of Law in 1979. He furthered his legal education in tax and estate planning at the University of Wisconsin and Golden Gate University.
Mr. Allen is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Maricopa County Bar Association. He is a member of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar and a longtime member of the Central Arizona Estate Planning Council. He is past-President and member of the board of directors of the Camelback Kiwanis Club; a past member of the board of directors of East Valley Community Bank; a long time member of the Sun Angel Foundation Advisory Council; a former coach and member of the board of directors of Tempe American Little League and a former coach in the Santan Soccer Club.
Mr. Allen is an avid outdoorsman and supports many wildlife conservation organizations.
Mr. Allen holds the coveted “Distinguished” rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He is also one of the first Arizona attorneys to be certified as an Estate and Trust Law Specialist by the State Bar of Arizona.
Mr. Allen is married to his high school sweetheart, Dianne, and they are the proud parents of four children and seven grandchildren. Mr. Allen is quick to say that all of his children graduated from the best university in Arizona – Arizona State University.
