George McKearin was admitted to the Texas Bar Association in 1969. He is licensed to practice in the State Courts in Texas, before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, the United States Court Of Appeals 5th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Attorney McKearin has been in the private practice of law since January of 1974. Since 1992, his practice has been primarily devoted to divorce or family law, wills and probate. In a divorce case or a family law matter, Attorney McKearin offers professional services tempered with the understanding and compassion necessary to guide you through your legal matter. He will make every effort to minimize conflict between his client and his or her spouse, especially, where there are children involved. He strives to negotiate an agreement that is acceptable to his client and that will, hopefully, enhance the prospect of the future cooperation between mother and father that will be so important in the development of the children. In will and probate law, he will advise you as to your need for a will and powers of attorney and handle any probate matters where there is a deceased individual with an estate to be passed onto the heirs. Attorney McKearin will work towards the best solution available, whether that’s settlement, trial or alternative dispute resolution. Every client is treated with courtesy and respect.

Mr. McKearin graduated from Hamilton College, Clinton, NY in 1966 and received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University – 1969. He is a former member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Section (Chair 1998), and is currently a member of the Family Law and Wills and Probate Sections of the Dallas Bar Association. He is a member of the  Family and Probate Sections of the Collin County Bar Association. Mr. McKearin also served as a member of the Texas Association of Mediators from 1992-2006. He was president of the North Texas Chapter 2001 and 2002, and was also an Associate Municipal Judge of the Richardson Municipal Court of Record from April 2011 to December 2015.

He served as a board member of the Parks and Recreation Commission in Richardson from 1994-1995. He subsequently served on the City of Richardson Civil Service Board from 2004-2007. He served on the Board for the Methodist Richardson Medical Foundation from 2014-2016. He has been a member of Richardson East Rotary since 1997 and was president in 2002 and 2003. Mr. McKearin has been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Richardson since 1973, and was Chair of the Adult Education Council in 1997 and Chair of the Seminar and Retreats Committee from 1998-2000.
