Elisa Reiter has more than 30 years practicing in the field of family law. She is licensed to practice in multiple jurisdictions (Texas, New York, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts). Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Mrs. Reiter prides herself on being an AV rated trial lawyer.

Mrs. Reiter received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, both cum laude, in 1980 and received her J.D., Doctor of Jurisprudence, 1983 from Southern Methodist University. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association and the American Bar Association, as well as of the Family Law Sections of each of these organizations. She is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. In 2016, she received the Family Compass “Spirit of Compassion” Award. In 2017, she served as Honorary Chair of the Family Compass Gala.

In addition, Mrs. Reiter has authored and/or co-authored several articles which have been presented at continuing legal education seminars on family law. She has been a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars and continuing education seminars for mental health professionals. Mrs. Reiter was honored to serve as an Adjunct Professor of Family Law at SMU’s Dispute Resolution Program.

Mrs. Reiter also completed two three-year terms on the Board of Directors of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She also served on the Texas Family Law Exam Commission, ultimately chairing the Commission.
