Kamala W. Sessoms Founder of Sessoms Law Group, LLC is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia. She has helped clients with a wide range of issues, from visas to deportation defense to criminal defense matters, including DUI defense and car accidents involving personal injury. Representing clients in all aspects of U.S. immigration law, from personal and individual matters to corporate immigration. Ms. Sessoms knows how challenging or stressful a legal case can have on a person or loved one. Having experience in both immigration and criminal defense law, Attorney Sessoms has a greater insight on how to defend your rights and resolve your case.
Before starting her own law firm in 2009, Ms. Sessoms had previously worked as a public defender for Fulton County, where she helped hundreds of clients through the court system and provided quality representation for those who are often overlooked. She draws on that experience today when representing clients, being accessible, loyal, persistence and zealous to every clients need.
Ms. Sessoms graduated from Oberlin College with a B.S. she was a Presidential Science Scholar and majored in Political Science, with a concentration in Comparative Politics, 1998 and received her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law, East Lansing, Michigan, 2004. She was part of the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Program.
Ms. Sessoms is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Current Chair of the National Day of Action Committee for GA-AL Committee AILA Chapter and Past Chair of the Advocacy Committee for GA-AL Committee AILA Chapter. She is also a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and Gate City Bar.
In addition, Ms. Sessoms attends Antioch Baptist Church North and has volunteered in the past with the Latin American Association. She is active in politics and has attended The White House Project, and the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. She is also a speaker, teaching classes and conducting seminars involving topics on immigration and criminal law.
