Charles “Chuck” Rubin, Managing Partner at Gutter Chaves Josepher Rubin Forman Fleisher Miller, PA, since 2014, has more than 30 years of professional experience. Mr. Rubin works in the areas of U.S. and international tax law, estate planning, probate, prejudgment asset protection, corporate and general business law, charitable planning, and exempt organizations.

Prior to his position at Gutter Chaves Josepher Rubin Forman Fleisher Miller, Mr. Rubin was an attorney and partner with Fowler, White, Burnett, Hurley, Banick & Strickroot from 1987 to 1992 and an attorney with Fine, Jacobson, Schwartz, Nash, Block & England from 1984 to 1987.

Mr. Rubin received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Northwestern University in 1980, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, from the Fredric G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida in 1983. He subsequently completed his education with a Master of Laws in taxation with the same academic institution in 1984. He has been admitted to practice law in the state of Florida and before the U.S. Tax Court.

Certified in taxation by the Florida Bar Board, Mr. Rubin has served on a number of industry-related organizations and committees. He was the former vice chair of the Florida Bar Foreign Tax Committee, he was also the founding member and chair of the PBC Community Foundation Wealth Estate Planning Seminar Steering Committee in 2016. He has also been affiliated with the Florida Bar in a number of capacities, including in the tax section, international tax committee, real property, probate, and trust law section, probate and trust litigation committee, trust and estate tax committee, trust law committee, and lost wills committee. Mr. Rubin also served as an adjunct professor in the graduate tax and estate planning programs at the University of Miami law school.

Mr. Rubin has held memberships with the Boca Raton Tax Institute, the Greater Boca Raton Estate Planning Council, and the Boca Raton International Tax Group. He was a founding member of the UF Advisors Network and is on the professional advisors council of the Broward Community Foundation. Alongside his professional and civic engagements, he has also been a prolific author, contributing articles to professional journals and authoring “Florida Sales and Use Taxes on Boats – Compliance and Planning Manual” in 1996 and “The FIRPTA Manual” in 1990, and The Florida Homestead Manual in 2018.

In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, Mr. Rubin has accrued several accolades throughout his career. A fellow of the American College of Trust and Estates Counsel, he was named Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in Taxation in 2015, 2017 and 2019. In addition, he holds an AV Peer-Reviewed Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, has been included in the Best Lawyers in America Guide under the taxation section, was named Lawyer of the Year in estate planning by Finance Monthly Global Awards, and included in Super Lawyers Guide under estate planning and probate. Furthermore, he was ranked in the list of Top Lawyers in South Florida under business, tax, and estate planning by the South Florida Legal Guide, was included in Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite, and has been selected for inclusion in the 63rd edition of Who’s Who in America and seventh edition of Who’s Who in American Law.

Mr. Rubin is married and has two children. He enjoys playing guitar, seeing his grandchildren, and watching and playing sports in his spare time. Looking toward the future, he aspires to continue working as long as he is able and postponing retirement.
