Mr. Casso currently focuses his legal practice on the trade community. He is devoted to serve again in the private sector, dedicating the balance of his professional career to the practice of law in matters of customs, transportation and logistics.

As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Casso was one of four lawyers working what was then the busiest federal criminal docket in the U.S.A. Having prosecuted hundreds of cases involving federal drug and immigration laws, bank fraud and money laundering, Casso is the author of “The Successful Prosecution of Drug Smuggling Knowledge Cases—a guide,” which details his unique approach in trying “knowledge cases”, recognized in the field as an especially difficult challenge.
In the civil sphere, Casso enjoyed considerable experience in commercial litigation associated with the Uniform Commercial Code, including numerous matters concerning customs laws such as the seizure of commercial cargo.
As the descendant of an importing/exporting family whose father, of the same name, was a founding partner of International Bonded Warehouses, an international concern based in Laredo, Texas with bonded warehouses and retail outlets spanning the entire U.S./Mexico border from Brownsville, Texas to San Diego, California and every major port in between, he finds himself in a privileged position to work in all its complexity the legal matters related to the trade operations implemented by the many different actors in the great Port of Laredo.
Mr. Casso received his B. A. (1980) and his J. D. (1985) from Southern Methodist University. He is a publisher of four books and is very involved in community services.
