Ms. Miller, a solo practitioner, is a Certified Elder Law attorney, as certified by the National Elder Law Foundation and recognized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is licensed to practice in Texas and Missouri, admitted to practice in all federal District Courts in Texas, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court. Attorney Miller is also a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas. Ms. Miller received her undergraduate degree in Education – minor in biochemistry – from the University of Kansas in 1977 and her law degree from the University of Kansas in 1981, and her LLM (a more specialized postgraduate law degree) in Taxation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1983, where she was the first Arthur Mag Fellow of Law, a distinction awarded to an outstanding student in the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law’s LL.M. program.

She is a member the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), director, founding member and former president (2002) of the Texas Chapter of NAELA. She is also recognized as a Certified Elder law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, a certification recognized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the American Bar Association, and she sits on the Board of Directors of the National Elder Law Foundation, where she is president-elect (2019). Ms. Miller has been a lecturer and presenter at the University of Texas’ elder law conference, teaching other lawyers the principles of elder law.

Giving something back to the community is important to Attorney Miller. She has been actively involved with YMCA of Austin, as Chair of the Southwest Branch Committee of Managers from 1992-1994, on the Metropolitan Board of Directors from 1995 – 2004, as the first Chair of the new Springs Family Branch where she still serves on the Committee of Managers. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of United Way of Hays County (1994-2009), former member of the Board of Directors of Helping Hands, a food and financial resource center for those in need of assistance in Dripping Springs (1996-2009). Ms. Miller currently sits as the Municipal Judge in Dripping Springs and serves as a Commissioner of the Hays County Emergency Services District #6.
