“I am known to be kind and gentle, yet strong enough to tell my clients realistic facts. I want them to feel that they were treated fairly by the justice system.” – Beverley Brown Losey

Beverley Brown Losey, solo law practitioner,  serves mainly administrative level  clients at the Social Security Administrative hearing offices in Tacoma and Seattle, Washington. She is admitted to the practice of law in the State of Washington, the Federal U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

She will work with Social Security Administrative disability clients, especially Supplemental Security Income, “SSI”  disability clients, who receive benefits from Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.  She assists these clients  to use legal means to address multiple problems of housing shortages, limited funds, and physical and/or mental challenges. For example, In Washington one individual may receive a grant of less than $300 per month; and, Washington State is one of the better States in providing for disabled persons and persons of limited means.  While the client must identify the goals and priorities for such assistance as Beverley is retained only to assist in obtaining SSI, a federal means tested program to provide a minimum income to eligible disabled persons, and/or Disability Insurance Benefits from the Social Security Trust funds. However, if a person has no housing, no telephone, and is homeless, then,  that person needs appropriate referrals for assistance to obtain shelter or housing, to obtain a telephone to call social workers, attorneys, case manager, and for medical appointments, a local or USPS General Delivery mailing address,  and at least the contact number for referral service to find various community resources.

Beverley  graduated from the University of Maryland at Walter Reed Army Institute of Nursing, “WRAIN” at  the “old” Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. She  earned her  Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1970; her class was the third to graduate.   That educational program is no longer available.

In 1984, she received  her Juris Doctor from University of Puget Sound, now Seattle University,  law school.   So, she has two diplomas from  law school.   She has been practicing law in the State of Washington since 1985.
