Frederick G. Attea practices as a Senior Counsel for Phillips Lytle in its Buffalo and Canada locations. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Mr. Attea primary focus is in securities and corporate practice with emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, securities law, corporate governance and legal compliance programs. He also concentrates in executive employment agreements and compensation plans. In addition, he focuses on not-for-profit corporations, and is involved in programs for minimizing liability exposures of directors and officers. Coming from an old school approach, Mr. Attea sees his clients not only as people who are seeking legal help, but more like a trusted friend, who he assist in helping them achieve their goals.

Mr. Attea a magna cum laude graduate from Canisius College with a Bachelor’s of Science in 1961 and received his J.D., with honors from Fordham University School of Law. He is a member of various professional associations. The most rewarding was being apart of the Board of Trustees with the Nativity Miguel Middle School and Board of Directors with Read to Succeed Buffalo, Inc., Board of Directors.

Mr. Attea has authored numerous articles and lectured on a variety of business law topics including mergers and acquisitions; securities; business ethics; legal compliance programs; fiduciary duties; directors and officers liability, insurance and indemnification; and succession planning in family business.
