Matthew D. Myers has been a trial lawyer since 1990. He was lead counsel in the Boston bombing student trial in 2013. He has defended case cases involving murder, kidnapping, securities fraud, narcotics conspiracy, cyber–crime, sexual offenses, child pornography, and for years has defended Medicaid fraud charges in the federal courts. His practice has included representation in the New York federal courts, Washington DC federal courts, Maryland federal courts, Florida, Alabama, and California courts just to name a few. Mr. Myers spent over a decade representing international narcotrafficker’s from Columbia, Mexico, and Europe.
Matthew D. Myers most recently represented one of the lead defendants in the FIFA soccer scandal prosecuted in the Eastern District of New York. Additionally Mr. Myers represented a New York State assembly representative, a high profile commercial real estate broker accused of multi million dollar bribes in the federal courts of New York, as well as the case of the highly publicized Medicaid physician who was acquitted at a trial of federal racketeering charges in the Southern District of New York’s federal courts.
Attorney Myers attended Wake Forest University, Susquehanna University, and received his Juris Doctorate from Western New England School of Law in 1990. Mr. Myers is Chairman of the Board of New York County Defender Services, he is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the New York City Bar Association, and the National Trial Lawyers Top 100.
Mr. Matthew D. Myers is a lecturer, speaker at many engagements on the subject of criminal defense and trial strategy. He was also featured in Trial Lawyers Magazine, National Trial Lawyers Top 100. Mr. Myers has been honored by Top US lawyers, Top 100 Trial Lawyers, was lead attorney in the Boston Bombing Trial in 2013, and was a recipient of The Thurgood Marshall Award by the New York City Bar Association in 1998 for his representation in a death penalty matter in the State of Alabama.
