David W. Kaman has devoted his entire legal practice to the area of community association law. For seven years, David lived in a condominium and served as board president of a 160 unit owners’ association. As a result, he has a unique capability to empathize with the viewpoints of both residents and board members. In addition to being an Ohio attorney, David is also a licensed attorney in Florida, which he uses as a tool to keep abreast of current trends in community association law.
David W. Kaman received his B.A., cum laude, 1977 from John Carol University and is a 1980 graduate of the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, and the Florida Bar.
In 1997, David was the first attorney from Ohio inducted into the prestigious College of Community Association Lawyers and in 2018 was elected to its Board of Governors. David has served several years on the elite committee of less than a dozen lawyers who plan and host the prestigious national Community Associations Institute Law Seminar. 
David W. Kaman spends significant time writing and speaking on issues affecting community associations. He is the author of hundreds and hundreds of articles on community association issues. He is the author of the “Operational Guide for Board Members: as well as the “Financial Guide for Board Members,” which are two of the most valued educational tools for Ohio board members.
He has spoken at hundreds of seminars on community association topics for such entities as the Ohio Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association as well as the Columbus, Ohio Valley, and Northern Ohio chapters of Community Associations Institute.
