In the past Mr. Wawerna was a deputy district Attorney in Chicago during the “MGM’S fire.The MGM Grand fire occurred on November 21, 1980 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino (now Bally’s Las Vegas) in Paradise, Nevada. The fire killed 85 people, most through smoke inhalation.

Mr. Wawerna is a graduate of Colorado State University with a B.A. and received his M.S. in Forensic Science from George Washington University, and his J.D. from California Western School of Law.
