Mr. Charanza began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the Marine Corps where he served as a criminal defense attorney while on active duty. After leaving active duty, Al has continued to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve as a Judge Advocate, Intelligence Officer and Personnel Officer. He currently has over 23 years of military service and has attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was an Assistant District Attorney for Angelina County for four and a half years. In 2003, he left the District Attorney’s Office and started his criminal defense practice.

As a former Marine, Mr. Charanza founded this firm with a strong tradition of service to his community and country. Mr. Charanza has been adjutant professor at Angelina College teaching in the Police Academy and Paralegal programs where he taught Search & Seizure, Civil Forfeiture, the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and the Texas Penal Code. Al is very knowledgeable of the law. He attends over 20 hours of Continuing Legal Education each year.
