Michael DerGarabedian founded the law firm of DerGarabedian & Associates in 1989. Since then he has built an office that has gained the respect of the community, judges and fellow attorneys. As a successful trial attorney, Michael DeGarabedian continues to represent those accused of crimes and those who have been physically injured.

Michael DerGarabedian is a member  of the New York Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is a member of the Long Island Old Boys Rugby Club, and an alumni member of University of Michigan Wrestling Club. Mr. DerGarabedian is a prior Board of Directors for Nassau County Cultural Affairs and the founder of the nationally recognized youth wrestling program Teeth of the Dog Wrestling Club. Mr. DerGarabedian has volunteered as a Judge and chairman of the Old Brookville Zoning Board of Appeals for six years until he was elected as a Trustee for the Village of Old Brookville, for which he now serves.

On April, 2012, Mr. DeGarabedian was inducted into the United States National Wrestling Hall of Fame located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Shortly thereafter, Mr. DeGarabedian was nominated to sit on the governing Board of Directors for the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. On February 13, 2013, he was honored with a nomination to join a group of 22 people throughout the United States, forming the Committee to Preserve Olympic Wrestling (CPOW).

In 2018, Mr. DerGarabedian was honored with the Martindale Hubble Award. In 2015, he received an Honorable Client Dedication Award and in 2009 he was awarded the Fraternal Order of Court Officer Bench and Bar Award. In 2006, Mr. DerGarabedian received the Nassau Police Conference Award for Dedication to law enforcement.

Attorney  Michael DeGarabedian received his law degree from the University of Bridgeport School of Law in 1988 and his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1985.
