Established in 1998, Chilton Yambert Porter trial attorneys bring nationally recognized litigation experience and cost effective legal representation to a broad, regional client base. They focus their litigation practice in the defense of wrongful death, personal injury and commercial litigation in state and federal courts across the country, as well as through alternative dispute resolution proceedings and in 2016, they broadened our scope by creating both a Corporate and Environmental Practice Group, serving clients within the food and beverage, chemical, transportation, manufacturing and general business services industries. At Chilton Yambert Porter, their philosophy is different from other litigation firms. Matthew R. Bolon a Senior Associate at the firm, provides legal services to individuals and small businesses and has tried dozens of civil and criminal cases in Illinois. Since practicing law, Matthew has tried cases in both state and federal courts, representing individuals and corporate clients in commercial, personal injury, criminal, domestic relations, chancery, probate, parentage, domestic violence, and other civil disputes. Matthew has drafted appeals at both the state and federal level, negotiated settlement agreements for litigants, and drafted contracts and other legal documents for clients. Matthew also spent one-and-a-half years as a law clerk for the Cook County State’s attorney, prosecuting and assisting with hundreds of major felony cases in both adult Felony Trial and Juvenile Justice divisions. Prior to law school, Matthew taught undergraduate courses at DePaul as an adjunct professor in the Writing, Rhetoric, & Discourse and English Departments as well as the DePaul Bridge Program.
Matthew earned his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law as well a M.A. in English and a B.A. in English from Tulane University. He is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, Council Member Privacy and Information, Security Law Section, Illinois Bar Association. During law school, Matthew was a Dean’s Award Scholarship Recipient, made the Dean’s List, and earned the Dean’s Distinguished Public Service Award, the Chicago-Kent Certificate of Service, the CALI Award for Excellence in Public Interest Law, and a Certificate in Public Interest Law.
Matthew has had a passion for helping people in all walks of life since before entering the legal profession, and he continues to focus on providing sound advice, diligent representation, and zealous advocacy to those when they need it most.
