Lawrence M. Herrmann established his practice in 1978, in Jackson Heights, NY and Cheshire, CT.  Lawrence M. Herrmann has been practicing law for 50 plus years. He is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, and Washington DC.  His focus is in Criminal Defense (State and Federal) relating to major and numerous extradition cases, involving narcotics trafficking, money laundering on multi million and billion dollar levels.  His practice is also defending veterans with “invisible” wounds and working in PTSD awareness and suicide prevention.

In a recent jury trial in Queens, Lawrence M. Herrmann obtained an acquittal of a person who was mistaken for someone else and charged with double homicide.  The case was featured on America’s Most Wanted.  In another court battle with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office he received national publicity for getting a homicide of 29 years ago dismissed by negligence of NYPD and the District Attorney which case was featured in Newsweek.

Mr. Lawrence M. Herrmann was also Assistant DA in Manhattan for six years and Assistant US Attorney from 1976-1978. Mr. Herrmann attributes his success to having a basic respect for other human beings regardless of race, religion or ethnicity and his ability to speak Spanish which has been an asset to his profession.

Mr. Herrmann is a graduate of Harvard Law School, obtained his B.A. from Yale University and graduated Phillips Exeter Academy.

As a Marine Officer, Mr. Herrmann taught Spanish at the Spanish Naval War College in Madrid. After law school, he was an advisor for 4 years with The National Community Development Foundations in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Colombia, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico.

Mr. Herrmann has successfully handled extradition cases from Latin America. In the past he was a prosecutor for eight years, and is currently on the Board of Directors and on the Award Committee of Chapel of 4 Chaplains Memorial Foundation, (Presented Legion of Honor Award) and from March 2015 till October 2017 was National General Counsel for the Marine Corps League. Mr. Herrmann is a member of the Queens Bar Association, the New York Puerto Rican Bar Association and the Washington D.C. Bar Association.
