Hathorne A. “Hap” Burnham has been practicing law for 47 years. He is admitted to practice before Colorado, Utah and the United States Supreme Courts. His law office is located in Golden, Colorado. His area of concentration is in Real Estate, Entities and Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Mr. Burnham received his Bachelor of Science from the United States Air Force Academy and Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law. He attended Harvard Business School (“HBS”) Master in Business(“MBA”) program. Additionally, he is a Retired U.S. Air Force officer, graduating from the United States Air Force Academy (“USAFA”) and the Industrial College of then Armed Forces (“ICAF”) of National Defense University (“NDU”).

Serving  in the United States Air Force, Mr. Burnham serves as Colonel from 1964-1994. He was an Airline Transport Pilot; Commercial Pilot and Independent Instructor Pilot in gliders, gyroplanes, helicopters, instrument, land-based airplanes, seaplanes, and Rocky Mountain aerial search mission flying. National Ski Patrol Certified volunteer ski patroller, and is a former Colorado-licensed Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (“EMT-B”).

Mr. Burnham is a member of the American Legion, Civil Air patrol, Rocky Mountain Region Vice Commander, the Colorado State Shooting Association, the Denver Mining Club, the National Rifle Association, the National Ski Patrol: Certified No. 84; Division Program Supervisor, 2-Time Patrol Representative, the Summit Section Chief, Western Region, Rocky Mountain Division Legal Advisor, Rocky Mountain Division Director, the National Board of Directors, the Professional Ski Patrol association – West certified No. 060-75 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is recognized as a Distinguished AV Rated Attorney, 2018.

Mr. Burnham is also a volunteer Mountain Mission, Instructor and Evaluator Pilot, an Alpine Ski Patroller at Pikes Peak, Breckenridge, Winter Park and Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, Mount Whittier, New Hampshire, Squaw Valley and Sugar Bowl, California, and Canaan Valley, West Virginia,Instructor of Snow Avalanche Risks, Control, Victim Search and Rescue Instructor of Patrol Skiing and Rescue Toboggan Operation, a Volunteer Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician – Basic and Instructor of Outdoor Emergency Care.

Mr. Burnham is the father of five children: Lisa, Blake, Nils, Greta and Lars.
