Mr. Franklin A. Blanco, joined Polatsek, Counsellors At Law in October 1989, is admitted to practice in the Southern District of New York and is a member of the American Bar Association. Mr. Blanco attended Hunter College where he was awarded a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude (top one percent) in 1978. While an undergraduate, he was selected for membership in and became a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Mr. Blanco attended Brooklyn Law School where he was awarded the degree of Juris Doctor, cum laude (top ten percent) in 1981.
Mr. Blanco’s area of legal practice includes all aspects of immigration and nationality law. During his more than 20 years of practice with Polatsek, Counsellors At Law, Mr. Blanco has successfully handled every type of immigration matter.
Mr. Blanco is fluent in several languages including Spanish and Portuguese and has substantial knowledge of French and Italian. This allows him to provide professional, responsive, and personalized service to his clients. Mr. Blanco has also appeared regularly on television and participated in radio programs speaking on issues affecting the immigrant community.
Before joining Polatsek, Counsellors At Law, Mr. Blanco was an attorney with several prominent New York practices including Barst & Mukamal, Levitt & Needleman, and Mailman and Ruthizer.
While in law school he also worked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Newark, (NJ) as an Intern and for The Legal Aid Society (NY) also as an intern.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Blanco attended the prestigious acting school “HB Studio” on Bank Street in New York City, While he never became a professional actor, he has produced several theatrical plays in Spanish as well as some musical events in South Florida.
Mr. Blanco has been known to say that acting on stage and lawyering (particularly in the court room) are similar with the exception that on stage there is a script and in lawyering the “script” is written by the lawyer on an ad lib basis.
