Veronica M. Gorman, Esq. a solo practitioner, established the law firm in 2016. She is admitted to practice in New York and N.D.N.Y. Her primary focus is providing quality representation for those accused of criminal offenses and clients with pending petitions in family court. Since entering private practice, Ronnie has established herself as a fierce trial attorney, having tried a number of cases to verdict, including murders. She has also gotten a number of favorable results in family court matters. With her years of experience in each area of law, whether it is uncontested divorces, misdemeanor and felony charges, adoption and child custody, juvenile delinquent cases, visitation and guardianship, Ronnie has the means to guide her clients toward a positive outcome in their situations. She will dedicate all of her attention to your case.

After graduating from Syracuse University College of Law, Ronnie began defending emergency service agencies in litigation and providing legal counsel on all aspects ranging from contracts, by-laws, licensing and registration requirements. As a volunteer firefighter in the City of Cortland and Town of Cortlandville for 10 years, she brought real world experience to her cases. Veronica’s experience in criminal law began in April of 2008 when she accepted a position in the Cortland County District Attorney’s office. While there, she quickly became second assistant district attorney specializing in the prosecution of all sexual offense crimes in Cortland County. Additionally, she served as a liaison to the Cortland County Multidisciplinary Team where she advised team members regarding offenses involving children. In this capacity she worked closely with both law enforcement agencies and Child Protective Services.

In August of 2011, she accepted a position as a Broome County Assistant District Attorney, where she continued to specialize in the prosecution of sexual offenses and crimes against vulnerable populations. In March of 2013, she was promoted to Senior Assistant District Attorney, where she served under the Honorable Gerald F. Mollen until December of 2015. During her time in the Broome County District Attorney’s office, she served as the District Attorney’s liaison to the Broome County Child Advocacy Center’s Multidisciplinary Team. She also tried several cases, including A-2 felony level crimes, to verdict.

Veronica was recognized as a Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers for her work as a criminal defense attorney. Additionally, she was recognized by the American Institute of Family Law as a Top 10 Female Attorney in New York for 2017 and 2018 and the American Institute of Criminal Law as a Top 10 Female Attorney in New York for 2018. Additionally she continues to be a member of the assigned counsel program for a number of surrounding counties, she acts as an attorney for the child, and she is on the federal assigned counsel panel for the Northern District of New York. In her spare time, you can find her teaching Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure as an adjunct instructor at SUNY Broome.
