Johnny L. A native of Pontiac, Michigan, Mr. Hawkins true passion centers around philanthropy, and music and entertainment production-based projects. He was previously an Adjunct Professor at Oakland Community College; He also served as a former Appointee to The State Bar of Michigan Law and the Media committee; and in 2013, he was the recipient of the prestigious Michigan State University-College of Law, Black Law Student Association’s 2013 “Robert Millender Visionary Award.” Additionally, in 2014, Mr. Hawkins created Mighty Jon, Inc., a Michigan based, non-profit 501 (C)(3),with intentions of providing humanitarian services as well as mentorship services and resources to young boys and men of color living within the inner-cities of the U.S.
Mr. Hawkins, who served in the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge, graduated from Oakland Community College, Wayne State University’s School of Business and then immediately went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate Degree at Michigan State University-College of Law. Just recently, in the Spring of 2017, Mr. Hawkins successfully graduated from the Steve Harvey, Success Institute’s Personal Transformation Program.
Mr. Hawkins is most proud of the fact the he has been a member of the Michigan Bar Association for over 22 years, was an active member in the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association, and was also elected and did previously serve on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) from 2016-2018.
