Mr. Lawrence West, admitted to the Texas Bar in 1988, the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas, 1989,the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas, 1990, the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, 1991, the U. S. District Court and the Western District of Texas, 1992, is a founding partner of West Mermis PLLC. and currently serves as its Managing partner. He has more than 28 years of litigation experience handling cases all over the State of Texas. His practice includes complex commercial litigation, construction defect litigation, business litigation and worksite accidents.

Attorney West, recently handled a complex case (G.T. Leach Builders, LLC vs. Sapphire V.P., L.P.), after a 9 year battle involving a condominium high-rise, The Sapphire on South Padre Island, the building was damage when Hurricane Dolly hit the shore in the summer of 2008. The building was not properly secured for the necessary standards of a storm. West Mermis took over the legal matter, that went to the Texas Supreme Court, which became a landmark case, as a result Mr. West and the Legal team won on all accounts, and today this case is the law of the land in Texas. The case had a profound impact on how Texas courts interpret arbitration provisions.

Mr. West is a graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law, J.D. 1988, and received his B.B.A. in Finance from The University of Texas, 1984.
