Michael G. Barton is an agricultural law attorney, who grew up on grain and a livestock farm in West Central Illinois near Pittsfield. “Growing up on a farm, I have learned how to work and treat people.” Attorney Barton , admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1983, concentrates his practice in real estate, business planning, income tax planning, estate planning, and trust and estate administration for farmers and land owners. Prior to law school, Mike worked as a farm consultant and income tax preparer for farmers and land owners through Farm Business Farm Management.
Attorney Barton received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Agricultural Economics at the University of Illinois and also his law degree from the University of Illinois. Michael is a member of the Sangamon County and Illinois State Bar Associations, the Sangamon Valley Estate Planning Council (Director, 1989-1990) and the American Agricultural Law Association. He holds Martindale-Hubbell’s highest (AV) rating.
