Over the course of his career, he has served as the City Manager of Portsmouth, Ohio (Ohio’s youngest City Manager), He was elected mayor of the town for eight years, and he became Associate Director of Ohio University Portsmouth Branch as well as legal counsel for the Village of New Boston.
Attorney Gerlach is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law (Juris Doctor Law Degree) and received his Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Syracuse University, as well as his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from University of Cincinnati. He is past president of the Scioto County Bar Association, State Bar Association and the Ohio Association for Justice. Mr. Gerlach is an Eagle Scout and is an Honorary Cold war Patriot. He has 50 years of Legal Service Recognition from Ohio State Bar Association 1961 – 2011 and is recognized in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Law.
