Attorney Matthias Bricke Murfree IV has been practicing law since 2003. He is admitted to practice by the Tennessee Bar Association. Bricke is proud to represents the multiple generations of the same family through various legal dilemmas. He is the seventh generation of the Murfree‘s family to live in Middle Tennessee as far back as right after the Revolutionary War. The town of Murfreesboro was named for an ancestor of Bricke‘s, Col. Hardy Murfree a revolutionary war hero and Bricke is a direct descendant of Col. Hardy Murfree.

Bricke received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, Nashville, Tennessee, his B.A. cum laude from Rhodes College, Memphis, Tennessee and he attended Webb School Bell Buckle. Bricke Murfree has been a member of the Rutherford County Estate Planning Council since 2006-Present which consists of members of the Rutherford County Bar, insurance age , accountants , bank trust officers and other people who are involved in trust, estate planning and estate administration. The council focuses on improving the professional skills of those engaged in professional estate planning services.

Bricke Murfree has served on the Rutherford County Bar and Bench Committee, which is a committee consisting of Local Judges and Lawyers who are members of the Bar. The purpose of this committee is to meet and discuss ongoing challenges and concerns affecting the legal system in Rutherford County and work on possible solutions. He has been a member of the Rutherford County Bar Association and the American Bar Association including the American Bar Associations Probate and Property Division, since he was licensed.

Bricke Murfree serves on the Probate Local Rules Committee, which meets periodically with the Probate Court Judge for Rutherford County, to set local rules for the administration and operation of the Probate court. This committee also helps formulate the rules which apply to lawyers who practice in the Rutherford County Probate Court in the areas of Probate and Trust. In addition he has taught classes and given seminars in aspects of  Real Estate Law and estate planning.

Bricke Murfree received the 2007 YMCA Volunteer of the Year Award and the coveted AV* Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell from his peers for legal ability and ethical standards, in addition to other awards and accolades. Bricke Mufree received the 2016 John B. Hardin Service Award for his leadership in building a new math and science building, student center and new dormitory during his term as Building Ground Chairman for The Webb School.
