Top Attorney – C. Hunter King

Baton Rouge, LA WW/Press/September 12, 2017 – C. Hunter King, Founder & Attorney of The King Law Firm was selected for inclusion in the forthcoming Top Attorneys of North America 2017 edition of The Who’s Who Directories.  

The accomplishments attained by Mr. C. Hunter King in the field of Legal Services warrants inclusion into The Top Attorneys of North America.

As a native New Orleanian, he grew up in the St. Bernard Housing Development.  He attended New Orleans Public Schools, and graduated from McDonogh #35 Senior High School, a college preparatory school.

His parents Creasie P.. King and Willie King, Jr., were instrumental in setting a foundation for C. Hunter King’s future.  After attending high school, he worked with his father as a roofer, to earn money to attend college. Working hard was the only road to travel. His mother exposed C. Hunter, to the Arts, and music that he continues to enjoy.  She also gave him valuable information about finance, which he still relies upon.  After high school he attended USL in Lafayette, Louisiana where he became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity incorporated.  Later after graduating from law school he would become a Life Member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

  1. Hunter, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Southern University in New Orleans. While attending Southern University at New Orleans, he was elected Vice President of the Student Government Association. After graduation from Southern University in New Orleans with a degree in Business Administration, he worked for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation the summer before entering Southern University Law Center with an Earl Warren legal scholarship.

He continued his education to fulfill the dream, of service to people.  C. Hunter, received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1988, from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge.  He served as an Editor on Southern University’s Law Center Law Review.  In 1986 Southern Law Review Journal published his research on “Employment Discrimination: The Burden of Proof” Fall 1986, Volume 13, Number 1, page 91.  He is also a graduate of the Loyola University Institute of Politics.

A strong believer in the importance of community participation, and the responsibility of helping the less fortunate, C. Hunter, became an advocate and served in leadership positions in many organizations..  I am the Past President of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, New Orleans Chapter, Past Vice-President of the Police Athletic League of New Orleans, and Past Second Vice-President and Secretary of the Children’s Bureau of New Orleans.  These positions gave him the ability to affect change in the legal, social and economic areas in the City of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was because of his work on the local level, C. Hunter, was recommended to the National Marrow Donors Program Board of Directors, where he have served as a past Executive Board Member of MNDP.

  1. Hunter, have described himself as a “first generation lawyer and a third generation roofer.” It is also a well-known fact that his family has always been as essential part of his life.  He is the middle bother of Reginald, Kevin, Tyrone and Pastor Reynaldo King. In October 1996, while campaigning for an Orleans Parish judgeship, he underwent a bone marrow surgery to help save the life of his eldest brother, Reginald King.  The surgery was successful and helped Reginald live an additional 18 months.  Participating as a bone marrow donor for the benefit of his brother, Reginald was one of the most important things C. Hunter, have ever done in his life.

The most important, is the birth of his three children, Craig Hunter King, II, Christopher Harrison King, and Majella Alexis King to his wife, Alexis Joseph-King.

In C. Hunter King, first election in November of 1986, he earned forty-nine percent (49%) of the votes which totaled over Seventy-Six Thousand (76,000.00) votes in a runoff election for Judge, in the Civil District Court, Division D.  In the 1999 city wide election for Judge, in the Civil District Court, Division M, C. Hunter King, won his Judgeship with Sixty-Two percent (62%) of the vote with 442 of 442 precincts reporting.
