Mr. Divins, a commander in the U.S. Naval reserves, founded this firm with a strong tradition of service to his community and country. He believes that his clients deserve the highest-quality representation he has established this throughout his firm. Mr. Divins concentrates his practice on Family Law and Criminal Law. He has successfully represented clients in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, New York, Kings and Richmond Counties. He has helped clients navigate the complex issues regarding orders of protection, divorce, custody, visitation, modification of child support, paternity and child support. He consistently produces positive results for his clients .

Mr. Divins received his B.A. from the University of New York at Albany, his MBA from Florida State University and he graduated from the Touro Law Center. Upon graduation and passing the New York and New Jersey bars, he accepted  his commission in the U.S. Navy. Beginning his legal career with the Navy, Mr. Divins has served as a Senior Trial counsel (prosecutor) and Senior Defense Counsel.  He has tried cases on both sides, ranging from the simple unauthorized absences to murder. He has tried cases worldwide—Japan and Bahrain—and throughout the United States.  In addition to trying cases, he served as legal advisor to Carrier Group FIVE embarked on the USS KITTY HAWK, briefing the Admiral on the Law of War / Law of the Sea. His last sea tour was on board the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT where he advised the Commanding Officer on decisions regarding the prosecution of Sailors and Marines suspected of violating the Uniformed Code of Military Justice.   In addition to the above, Mr. Divins, assisted Sailors, Marines and Civilian Employees on family law issues including divorce, orders of protection, child support, visitation and equitable distribution of family assets.

Mr. Divins is married to his partner, Phyllis Divins—who’s practice focuses on personal injury.They have two children. He is currently a Commander in the U.S. Naval reserves stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Commander Divins has been designated an international law specialist and co-authored Piracy: New Efforts in Addressing This Enduring Problem, 36 Tul. Mar. L. J. 65 (2011).
