Lauren is a family attorney, that is passionate about her clients and prides herself for representing real people with real problems,being an effective attorney in handling family law disputes and giving her clients the resources and emotional support they need. Lauren took an interest in family law while working as a clerk for Judge James T. Russell who presided many family cases. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Bucknell University and obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Mrs. Berkich sits on the Board of the Executive Council, Family Law Section, State Bar of Nevada,where she and her peers will focus on implementation of programs, policies, standardizations and guidelines in the field of Family Law. Lauren was President of Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association in 2016. She served as a board member of NNWLA from 2013 to 2016, and continues to remain involved in the group. NNWLA is an organization committed to the advancement of women in the legal profession.
Lauren is a member of the Board of Directors of Safe Embrace domestic violence shelter, based in Sparks, Nevada. Safe Embrace not only provides shelter to domestic violence victims, it also has an animal shelter to house victims’ beloved pets.
Lauren is the Secretary of Nevada Collaborative Divorce Professions (NCDP), a group dedicated to educating the public about collaborative divorce. She is also a member of the State Bar of Nevada 2011, U.S. District Court, District of Nevada, 2012.
Lauren has received many accolades for her dedication of service and was nominated Reno’s Top 20 Under 40 in 2016, a program put on by Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network with partner, RGJ Media. “Each year a group of 20 talented, accomplished, very involved young leaders are chosen from nominations received.” She was also recognized in the annual list, “Legal Elite 2015: Nevada’s Top Attorneys.”Lauren was named in the annual list, 2011 American College of Bankruptcy Distinguished Law Student Nominee and 2014 and 2015 Legal Elite, Northern Nevada’s Top Attorneys, Nevada Business Magazine.
Lauren is married, has a daughter, and three dogs. Lauren enjoys spending time with her family outdoors in Northern Nevada.
